On this basement project, we transformed a rough, unfinished utility area into a seamless, modern living space by completely reworking the structural layout and drywall finishes. We began by constructing a clean stud wall to replace the uneven, exposed insulation and plumbing cavity, engineering a precise, flush opening for a custom utility access panel that blends beautifully into the wall. Up on the ceiling, we addressed rough, exposed beams and joists by installing multi-level drywall drop ceilings, which we expertly taped, mudded, and sanded to eliminate seams and shadows. The final result—complete with integrated recessed lighting and pristine, painted surfaces—shows how correcting overlooked details and focusing on crisp, seamless craftsmanship can elevate an entire room.

A vehicle left the roadway and took out the boundary fence and a section of the home's exterior wall, leaving splintered posts, a torn-up yard, and a wall opening that had to be boarded over before anything else could happen. We started by clearing the damaged structure and stabilizing the affected wall, then set new posts on accurate layout so the replacement fence ran true along the sidewalk instead of following the old sagging line. From there we rebuilt the fence framing, capped and squared each bay, and finished the exterior repair so the patched section of siding disappeared into the surrounding wall. The completed fence was painted to match the home's deep red siding, turning a jarring, half-demolished property line back into a clean, continuous street frontage.

This detached shed was built from the ground up on an existing paver patio, engineered to work as a genuine year-round space rather than a seasonal storage box. We began with a level, properly supported floor system, then framed and stood the walls with rough openings set for real windows and a full double-door entry. The roof was built with site-assembled trusses for a clean gable line and sheathed to match the surrounding architecture, and the entire envelope was insulated so the interior holds temperature through Okanagan winters and summers. Inside, we installed built-in benches and shelving along both walls, turning the finished shell into a usable workshop and storage space with natural light, headroom, and structure that will outlast anything prefabricated.
